I’m Candice, and I’m so happy that you are reading along as I begin on this blogging journey. Whether you’re here because you’re curious about gardening, seeking a deeper connection with your faith, or exploring my how-to’s, favorite recipes and the joys of motherhood on the homestead, I’m so glad you’ve found this space.
A Little About Me
I’ve always believed in the beauty of simplicity, and I’ve found that farming and faith are both deeply intertwined. I was raised in a way that fostered a love for everything, but it wasn’t until I started life on my own that I began to truly understand the deeper lessons that life has to offer.
Farming has taught me more than I could have ever imagined about patience, resilience, and the importance of trusting in something greater than ourselves. Whether it’s waiting for a plant to grow or dealing with the unexpected challenges, I’ve learned that faith is just as essential to farming as the hard work itself.
Motherhood, on the other hand, has grounded me in ways I never thought possible. There’s a satisfaction in growing your own food and making the most out of what the land God gives you. But even more than that, being a mom has strengthened my faith, as I constantly see God’s presence in every challenge, every meal and every mess.
Why Farmstead Faith?
I started Farmstead Faith to create a space where people who share these passions can come together, learn and grow. For me, faith and simplicity is a way of life. And through this blog, I want to share the lessons I’ve learned, the struggles I face, and the joy that comes from living a life rooted in both faith and the land.
My hope is to build a community here—one that is centered on faith, simplicity, and the beauty of sustainable living.
What You’ll Find Here
I’m committed to bringing you content that is both practical and inspiring. Here’s what you can expect from Farmstead Faith:
- Stories: I’ll share honest and unfiltered stories from life on the homestead—the highs and lows, the unexpected moments and the lessons learned along the way. Whether it’s the celebration of a successful harvest or a setback, I hope these stories will relate to you. While these stories come from my life on the farm, the ideas of hard work and finding joy are universal. You don’t need a farm to relate, they’re about life, faith and the lessons we all experience, no matter where we call home.
- Faith: Life is spiritual work. It connects you to God and to a deeper sense of purpose. Through faith reflections, I’ll explore how my daily life teaches me more about grace, patience, and trusting in God’s plan.
- Homesteading Tips: Whether you’re new to homesteading or a pro, I’ll be sharing practical advice on everything from growing your own food, planning a party or to caring for your home. These posts will be aimed at helping you live a more simple, fulfilling life.
- Recipes: From hearty family meals that feed the family, I’ll be sharing recipes and ideas that are both easy and delicious!
Why I’m So Passionate About This Journey
Living on a farm and maintaining a home is hard work but it’s also incredibly rewarding. I’ve learned that nothing worth having comes easy but the process is what brings the greatest reward. And for me, faith is what helps me through everyday.
I believe there’s a beauty in slowing down and taking the time to plant seeds (both literally and spiritually) and in nurturing the life around us. This blog is a reflection of that journey, and I want to invite you to read along.
